Allow me to introduce myself. I’m Ashley, the Happy Farmacist. Why happy, and why farmacist and not pharmacist? Let’s tackle the happy part first. The question I would ask you is why not happy? I believe that happiness is a choice that you make every day. If you let things, situations, people, etc. control your happiness, that is a choice. I wake up each day and make a choice, to be happy. No, I’m not perfect, and there are moments when a situation gets the better of me and I get too stressed out or overwhelmed. The great part about choosing to be happy is each day, you get to make the choice to start again and be happy. Choose to see the positive in each situation.
Farmacist is a play on words. Before I even finished pharmacy school nearly 10 years ago, I knew that something was off. As my career got started, it was clear to me that our medical system as it is today is too reliant upon medications. There is a pill for every ailment, and another one to treat the side effects you get from the first pill. I have had great success in my own life healing myself through diet, finding and treating the underlying cause instead of throwing a pill at the problem. My goal now is to provide education, to empower you to think outside the norm, and learn something new. Most chronic conditions can be managed or eliminated by identifying the root cause of the problem, which is frequently caused by diet and lifestyle choices. Over the next several posts, I will share some of my story, and how I learned that foods agree and don’t agree with my body.
Until then, choose happiness!
